Product Description

These cables support data rates from 10 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s over distances up to 600 meters. The larger core diameter enables multiple light modes but limits transmission distance due to modal dispersion.

Multi-mode fiber equipment is more cost-effective than single-mode alternatives. Typical performance specifications include 100 Mbit/s up to 2 km, 1 Gbit/s up to 1000 m, and 10 Gbit/s up to 550 m.

MPO MTP Cable Overview

40G parallel networks are created using MPO trunk cables and MPO patch cables connected via MPO adapter modules. Direct connections between 40G or 100G ports can also be established using MPO patch cables.

These cables typically use MPO 12-fiber connectors and 12-fiber cable. While SR4 40G or 100G Ethernet only uses 8 fibers, the 12-fiber design offers greater flexibility for use alongside duplex 10G networking with minimal cost difference.
