This high-capacity MTP Female to LC breakout cable features 8-strand OM3 50µm plenum-rated fiber with 18" length and 2mm breakout design, delivering reliable performance for backbone applications and fiber-to-the-desktop implementations.
Product Overview
Multi-mode optical fiber provides high capacity and reliability for backbone applications in buildings. Increasingly, users are leveraging fiber's benefits by running it closer to end-users through fiber-to-the-desktop or fiber-to-the-zone implementations. Standards-compliant architectures like Centralized Cabling and fiber to the telecom enclosure enable users to maximize fiber's distance capabilities by centralizing electronics in telecommunications rooms rather than having active electronics on each floor.
Multi-mode fibers are characterized by their core and cladding diameters. The 62.5/125 µm multi-mode fiber features a 62.5 micrometres (µm) core size and 125 µm cladding diameter. The transition between core and cladding can be sharp (step-index profile) or gradual (graded-index profile), with each type offering different dispersion characteristics and effective propagation distances.

MPO MTP Cable Technology
New Light 40G parallel networks are created by combining MPO trunk cables and MPO patch cables via MPO adapter modules. Direct connections between two 40G or 100G ports can also be established using the same MPO patch cable. These products are part of our M400 Series.
Typically, these cables utilize MPO 12-fiber connectors and 12-fiber cable. However, SR4 40G or 100G Ethernet transmission only uses 8 fibers within these cables. The advantage of 12-fiber cables (versus 8-fiber) is their compatibility with duplex 10G networking, offering multiple purposes and greater flexibility with negligible cost difference.
