1310 nm Optical Fiber Circulator Single Mode Type
Product Overview
1310 nm SM Fiber Optic Circulators are available in unterminated, FC/PC connector, or FC/APC connector configurations. The FC/PC and FC/APC connectors feature a 2 mm narrow key design.
Our CIR1310, CIR1310-FC and CIR1310-APC circulators support maximum power handling of 300 mW (CW). The CIR-1310-50-APC broadband fiber optic circulator is specifically engineered for OCT applications, offering a broader wavelength range than standard 1310 nm SM fiber optical circulators with maximum power handling of 500 mW (CW).
How Optical Circulators Work
Optical circulators enable bidirectional optical signal transmission through a single fiber. These three-port devices allow light to travel in only one direction:
  • Signals entering Port 1 exit Port 2 with minimal loss
  • Signals entering Port 2 exit Port 3 with minimal loss
  • Light entering port 2 experiences significant loss at port 1
  • Light entering port 3 experiences significant loss at ports 2 and 1
As non-reciprocal devices, optical circulators ensure that changes in light properties caused by passing through the device are not reversed when traveling in the opposite direction.
