Description

The NEW LIGHT OPTICS OM4 Fiber Cable is used for high speed fiber optic networking applications in buildings, data centers, telecommunications, etc, also referred to as MM, MMode. It is typically used for vertical pathways, shafts, and spaces between building floors. This LC fiber jumper is designed for performance and built to last in rough, high density cable environments, most commonly used for schools, healthcare facilities, and government buildings.

These high speed multimode 50/125um OM4 Polarity C Type fiber cables are terminated with 2 MTP® fiber optic connectors on both ends (MTP-MTP). The MTP® ("Multifiber Termination Push-on") connector is a multifiber connector developed by USConec that contains up to twelve optical fibers within a single ferrule.

Each one of the MTP® cables contain 12 fibers channels in a connector smaller than most duplex connections in use today. MTP fiber cables are designed as a high-performance version of the MPO style cable and will interconnect with MPO connectors.

Available in three polarity types:

Type-A (Straight Through)
Type-B (Cross, Flipped)
Type-C (Cross Pair, Rollover)

New Light factory MTP/MPO harness cables and MTP/MPO trunk cables are two common kinds of MTP/MPO fiber cables. They differ from each other in such aspects as function and application.

Choose Your Polarity

Type A - Straight: Straight-through polarity is typically for connecting patch panels. They are wired in a mirrored configuration, going from Pin 1 on one connector end to Pin 1 on the opposite end, etc.

Type B - Rollover: Rollover polarity is used primarily for connecting to switches and transceivers in 40Gb applications. In a 12-strand rollover polarity, the cable is wired from Pin 1 on one connector end to Pin 12 on the opposite end. Then 2 to 11, and so forth.

Type C - Flipped: Pair-Flipped polarity is the most commonly used polarity type for this cable, and typically used in cassette-to-cassette applications. Pin 1 on one end goes to Pin 2 on the opposite end, and 2 to 1, 3 to 4, 4 to 3, and so on. This is the default polarity option, but you can select your desired polarity from our drop-down menu above.
