Product Description

These fiber distribution panels, including MPO/MTP cables and adapters, facilitate easy termination of fiber optic cables and provide access to individual fibers for cross-connection. The metal enclosure houses adapter panels and fiber splice trays, allowing fibers to be fused with pigtails that connect to fixed internal adapter ports.

Internal ports remain fixed for permanent connections, while external ports accommodate frequently connected fiber patch cables for flexible device interconnection. The panel features two compartments: one for bulkhead receptacles/adapters and another for splice tray and excess fiber storage.

Polarity Methods

Proper fiber link polarity ensures transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) signals are correctly matched across connections. Three industry-standard polarity methods are available for multi-fiber components:

Method A

Uses Type A straight-through MPO trunk cables with key up/key down connectors. Position 1 fiber arrives at Position 1. Requires transceiver-receiver flip in patch cord for duplex applications.

Method B

Uses key up connectors on both ends, flipping positions (Position 1 to 12, Position 2 to 11). Employs straight A-B patch cords for duplex applications.

Method C

Uses key up/key down connectors with internal pair flipping (Position 1 to 2, Position 2 to 1). Suitable for duplex but not recommended for parallel 8-fiber 40/100 Gig applications.

Professional testing equipment like Fluke Networks' MultiFiber™ Pro ensures correct polarity deployment for patch cords, permanent links, and channels.
