Product Overview

This armored fiber optic patch cord features a unique conditioning method that combines single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables within the same patch cord assembly. The configuration includes two multi-mode ST connectors, one LC UPC single-mode connector, and one LC PC multi-mode connector.

Installation Guidelines

For gigabit LX switches equipped with SC or ST connectors, connect the single-mode side of the cable to the transmit side and the multi-mode fiber side to the receive side of the equipment. This configuration must be maintained on both ends. Transmit and receive swapping can only be done at the cable plant side.

Working Principle

Mode conditioning patch cords eliminate multiple signal generation by offsetting the single-mode launch away from the center of the multi-mode fiber. This creates a launch similar to typical multi-mode LED launches, preventing signal confusion at the receiver end.
