The NL-WDMMC-09 WDM Simplex Single-Fiber SFP Media Converter engineered by NEW LIGHT OPTICS TECHNOLOGY LIMITED leverages wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) BiDi technology to transmit and receive gigabit Ethernet over a single strand of single-mode fiber. By using 1310nm for transmit and 1550nm for receive (or the reverse in its paired counterpart), this media converter halves the fiber infrastructure requirement—effectively cutting fiber leasing costs by 50% while maintaining full-duplex gigabit throughput up to 20km. The integrated LC simplex SFP slot accepts standard WDM BiDi transceivers, making it the most cost-efficient solution for fiber-scarce environments.
